The reasons for bodyart, namely piercings and tattoos in my case,
are as varied as the people who have them. I make no attempt to
speak for the alternative community as a whole and by and large
they are more than happy to return the favor. Body art people
tend to be individuals, if your looking for pat answers,
you came to the wrong hobby.
People have many questions as to the why and how of my ink. I've tried to collect a reasonably coherent set of answers for you on my Frequently Asked Questions page. Click the link below to check them out.
I'm getting to the point where counting tattoos is getting problematic. My current coverage is at about 70% and consists of full sleeves on both arms, most of my upper torso and both legs from the knee down. All my ink is blackwork, also called "tribal", with the style being primarily Polynesian with some Native American elements worked in. This is a pattern I plan to continue. I have pictures below, You can click on any of the thumbnails to see a larger version of the image, they are taken at various times during the progress for each of the major additions and give you a sense of how they progressed. Top is oldest, bottom is newest. Comments and suggestions or questions are always welcome via E-mail or the feedback section. This is when I was doing my first tribal sleeve. Bringing closure to the front side of our upper torso adventure, I moved on to the chest. Then in the winter of 2002 I did my legs from the knee to the end of the foot.I have limited pictures of my piercings at this point. They consist of a Prince Albert at 2 guage and a 6 gauge Septum, I'm hoping to continue the stretching on both, as time, money and healing allow.
Particularly during the summer, I sometimes sport a shaved head. More rarely, I'll have a moment and do a mohawk instead. They tend to run about 1 1/2 inches wide front to back and about 1/2 to 1 inch tall. I razor shave the rest of my head most every morning have been told by people its the best groomed mohawk they've ever seen. Considering it may well have been the only mohawk most have ever seen up close the compliment is a little spurious, but I'm sure well intentioned.
